Hi Again Everyone!
I'm so sorry I didn't post yesterday, my internet went crazy as my internet provider was changing the cables to bring us a faster broadband speed, and it well, there just wasn't enough time!
I have with me, on Day Three, the WONDERFUL Kerry Kletter, author of The First Time She Drowned. When I first heard about this GORGEOUS book, I knew I simply had to have it, and I was so lucky that Kerry agreed to come onto the blog.
So, Say hi to Kerry and don't forget to enter the giveaway.
We'd Love To Get To Know More About You:
1. If you could be any Marvel or DC Superhero, who would you be?
Oh gosh I don't really know the Superheroes very well. Whichever one is the fiercest and the most kind would be a good one to be I think. It would probably help to have a sense of humor too considering the nonsense they have to put up with. :)
2. What is your version of an ideal day?
My ideal day would be to have a really good morning of writing, then spend the afternoon surfing perfect, clean 4-5 foot waves with hardly any crowds, a bonfire on the beach at sunset with my friends, something really delicious for dessert, and then home to Netflix and chill with my boyfriend.
3. What is your dream car?
Anything with a good sound system and a tank full of gas that will get me where I want to go.
And now, moving onto your masterpiece:
4. If you could describe The First Time She Drowned in five words, they would be:
I would describe THE FIRST TIME SHE DROWNED as dark, lyrical, complex, emotional, and hopeful.
5. Who would be cast in the The First Time She Drowned movie?
Hmm. Someone with an edge and a good emotional range. I bet Millie Bobby Brown would make a great Cassie if she was a few years older. She's pretty amazing
6. If you could give one piece of advice to your main characters what would it be?
Oh good question! I think my advice to my character would be to stay open to life. Sometimes she finds it too frightening to let the world in but she just needs to pick the right people to trust.

But freedom is a poor match against a lifetime of psychological damage. As Cassie plumbs the depths of her new surroundings, the startling truths she uncovers about her own family narrative make it impossible to cut the tethers of a tumultuous past. And when the unhealthy mother-daughter relationship that defined Cassie’s childhood and adolescence threatens to pull her under once again, Cassie must decide: whose version of history is real? And more important, whose life must she save?
A bold, literary story about the fragile complexities of mothers and daughters and learning to love oneself, The First Time She Drowned reminds us that we must dive deep into our pasts if we are ever to move forward.
