Stacking the Shelves #41 - The One With A Lot Books, After A Lot Of Time!

Hello Everyone!

I've been struggling to keep my head up above the never ending piles of college work (and part-time/ freelance work work) and I feel like I've neglected my blog a little. Please know that all of you lovelies reading this are SO SO important to me, and I try to blog/ or read to blog about something any chance I get!

I got a few pieces of bookmail in the last month, since my last #StackingTheShelves and I thought I'd quickly do up a post!

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely folks over at Tyga's Reviews and is all about the books you buy and receive for your shelf over a week!

FROM HARPERCOLLINS INDIA:

LIFEL1K3 (Lifelike, #1)1. Lifelike by Jay Kristoff: Jay Kristoff is one of my absolute favourite authors and I am SO EXCITED for Lifelike! I'm actually honestly a little scared to dive in, because I'm extremely familiar with Jay's love for torturing characters, but this has been one of my anticipated reads of the year and I can't wait to dive in. ALSO, THE UK COVER IS LIFE.
The Book of M2. The Book of M by Peng Sheperd: Although I've heard that this is a slow paced book, it has CAUGHT MY ATTENTION. Not only does it look gorgeous, but the story sounds stunning and I can't wait to pick up this blue and pink monster. This is also a DEBUT novel that's been making some noise and I can't wait to see what it has in store for me!
These Rebel Waves (Stream Raiders, #1)3. These Rebel Waves by Sara Raasch: I only read the first book of Sara Raasch's previous trilogy, and I honestly didn't like it enough to continue. The world building confused me, but I am very excited for this new trilogy. I think it's about pirates, but at this time, I honestly couldn't tell you. This came to me as a complete surprise and I can't wait to dive in!
Hold4. Hold by Michael Donkor: Here is a part of the blurb: "Moving between Ghana and London, Hold is an intimate, moving, powerful coming-of-age novel. It’s a story of friendship and family, shame and forgiveness; of learning what we should cling to, and when we need to let go." and it sounds ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. I am really looking forward to reading this one.
FROM PENGUIN INDIA:

1. Nyxia Unleashed by Scott Reintgen: I DID NOT EXPECT TO GET THIS IN THE MAIL, but it showed up and I was ABSOLUTELY OVERJOYED. There's just something magical about holding a book you've been waiting for for MONTHS in your hands, that's different from having the e-version of it, and I picked this book up almost immediately. I'm in shock and awe of Scott Rankin's brilliant writing and plot development and character and world building and I can't wait for the final book in this trilogy where I'm sure I'll sob my eyes out. READ MY REVIEW HERE:

Leah on the Offbeat (Creekwood, #2)2. Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli: A FAT GIRL AS A PROTAGONIST? I don't need to know more about the story - I'm already in. I absolutely loved the Love Simon movie, even though I haven't read the book (don't hate me) but I am EVEN MORE EXCITED FOR LEAH. I loved Upside of Unrequited and I can't wait to dive into this one.
FROM ONEWORLD PUBLICATIONS:

Fight Like A Girl1. Fight Like A Girl by Clementine Ford: I don't typically read non-fiction, but this highly praised FEMINIST MANIFESTO caught my eye, and now it's sitting on my TBR pile, all thanks to Oneworld Publications pure awesomeness. I honestly cannot wait to dive into this book, and I sincerely hope it blows my mind.
FROM SCHOLASTIC INDIA:

1. Ahimsa by Supriya Kelkar: I honestly just got this book yesterday, and I hope to pick it up something this week. It sounds quite stunning:
Ahimsa
In 1942, when Mahatma Gandhi asks Indians to give one family member to the freedom movement, ten-year-old Anjali is devastated to think of her father risking his life for the freedom struggle.
But it turns out he isn't the one joining. Anjali's mother is. And with this change comes many more adjustments designed to improve their country and use "ahimsa"—non-violent resistance—to stand up to the British government. First the family must trade in their fine foreign-made clothes for homespun cotton, so Anjali has to give up her prettiest belongings. Then her mother decides to reach out to the Dalit community, the "untouchables" of society. Anjali is forced to get over her past prejudices as her family becomes increasingly involved in the movement.
When Anjali's mother is jailed, Anjali must step out of her comfort zone to take over her mother's work, ensuring that her little part of the independence movement is completed.
Inspired by her great-grandmother's experience working with Gandhi, New Visions Award winner Supriya Kelkar shines a light on the Indian freedom movement in this poignant debut.

Stacking The Shelves #40 - The One Where I've ALREADY Read The Books I Bought

HELLO EVERYONE!

*Pats self on back for actually remembering to do this lovely meme this week, and not procrastinating it for another month.*

I received a little bookmail over the last week and a half that I am ABSOLUTELY in love with, and cannot wait to share with you! I'm especially excited for a certain new Harry Potter edition which is just SO STUNNING and I was so honoured to be a part of the Global Bookstagram Tour.

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely folks over at Tyga's Reviews and is all about the books you buy and receive for your shelf over a week!

Light Filters In: Poems
FROM HARPERCOLLINS INDIA:

1. Light Filters In by Caroline Kaufman: I've only recently found my way towards poetry, and I have FALLEN IN LOVE. Light Filters In is one of my current reads and it is SO HEART-BREAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL. Caroline Kaufman is just so talented, and this book is so raw, that it makes me feel everything. Such a gorgeous poetry collection that I cannot recommend enough.

Uncool: Fights, Camera, Action2. Uncool by Jane De Soza: I ADORE Graphic Novels, or books with any kind of illustrations in them - it just enhances the reading experience, even if it's only something like a map! When I received Uncool alone with Light Filters In, I was OVER THE MOON (Still am, but that's besides the point) and I can't wait to dive into this MG Diverse book set in India and have a blast reading it. Hopefully sometime this week?
Eleventh Hour

3. The Eleventh House by S. Hussain Zaidi: I'm increasingly falling in love with the Thriller genre, and when a lovely executive from HarperCollins India asked me to review this book, I was over the moon! I was also thrill to be one of the blogs that revealed the GORGEOUS COVER for this book, and I can't wait for the day I sink my claws in.

FROM BLOOMSBURY INDIA:

1. Gryffindor Edition - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: I am HONESTLY in awe of these new Harry Potter Editions with maps and house facts and SPRAYED EDGES and I just love them, okay? When I was asked to be a part of the Global Bookstagram Tour, I JUMPED. A huge thank you to Bloomsbury India for sending me a copy of one of my most anticipated books in EVER, and I can't wait to stare at it some more.
Image result for pyjama profit

2. Pyjama Profit by Varun Mayya and Abhinav Chhikara: I am VERY excited to dive into this entreprenurial guide because well, I started my own freelance design business just a few months ago, and I would love to learn from ACTUAL, ESTABLISHED Entrepreneurs as to how to run the business. I can't wait for this one!
A Shot in the Dark: A Twitten Mystery

3. A Shot In The Dark by Lynne Triss: This was another unsolicited piece of Bookmail from Bloomsbury (just like Pyjama Profit) and while it sounds really intriguing, I'm not sure if/ when I'll get to it! Hopefully not to long after, though! It does sound like quite a fun, dark, and twisty book, though!
Invitation to a Bonfire

4. Invitation to a Bonfire by Adrienne Celt: I've had my eye on this book for FOREVER now! This book looks absolutely stunning, and sounds it too. A Celebrated author, a marriage full of secrets and a burned manuscript?" I am going to read this book as SOON as I can, and I can't wait to see everything it has in store for me. Isn't it JUST SO BEAUTIFUL?

Nyxia Unleashed (The Nyxia Triad #2)FROM NETGALLEY:

1. Nyxia, Unleashed by Scott Reintgen: I read Scott Reintgen's debut novel, Nyxia, at the beginning of this year and I WAS HOOKED TO EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. He automatically found his way onto my Auto Buy Authors list AND I was just so excited for the sequels to this book! Now that I finally have an e-copy of this book in my hand, I will be diving in VERY SOON! I can't wait to re-meet Emmett and the rest of the crew!
The Point

2. The Point by John Dixon: I was pitched this book by a lovely Penguin Random House Publicist a few weeks ago, and it's been on my iPad Kindle App ever since. It sounds like SUCH an amazing read, and I'm honestly just waiting for the RIGHT time to read it before I dive in, which I hope will be very soon. I'm itching to get into a great sci-fi novel soon!

Furyborn (Empirium, #1)BOUGHT/ GIFTED:

1. Furyborn by Claire Legrand: AAAH. This was one of my MOST anticipated releases of this year, and I can't believe I just finished it! I really liked it, and I STILL LOVE THAT COVER, and you can expect my full review to be up tomorrow!

2. War Storm by Victoria Aveyard: I was OVER THE MOON when I saw a copy of War Storm at my favourite bookstore at home when the Amazon release date was OVER a month away. My best friend and I had gone because it was his birthday, and being the kind soul he is, he actually bought me this book right there! I had to dive in right away because this has been one of my FAVOURITE Series' since 2015 and well, I'm SO SAD THAT IT IS OVER. You can read my review here.

Stacking The Shelves #38 - The One I've Been Procrastinating Because There Are SO many Books!

I've been procrastinating this haul for weeks now, purely because of the SHEER AMOUNT of bookmail I've received over the last few weeks. I left town for a month and a half, and I came home to a mountain of bookmail, plus I received a lot of packages after as well.

If you do want to keep seeing (in real time, because I usually take months between these posts - the last one was in February), do follow me on Instagram, where you can see it all on my stories!

But, without further ado, let's begin!

Stacking The Shelves #37 - The One Where I Should Start Studying Instead of Typing This Post

*waves rapidly and awkwardly*

I'm SUPPOSED to be studying for my exam tomorrow morning but this class NEVER FAILS IN PUTTING ME TO SLEEP and all the content is just so DRY and I am procrastinating my time away. I have FOUR exams over the next THREE days and I am not prepared for any of them. ALSO, I HAVE SUBMISSIONS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE. #CollegeIsKillingMe.

Which brings me to this moment where I decided to ignore all of the above and simply type out a blog post that was supposed to be out yesterday! (Yes, my life is a mess)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted at Tyga's Reviews (that I always forget to link up to) and is all about ALL THE BOOKS you received that week. Let's begin:

Blood and SandFOR REVIEW:

From Macmillan International:

1. Blood and Sand by C.V.Wyk: I JUST finished reading this book yesterday and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. C.V.Wyk's debut novel has made it onto my ALL TIME FAVOURITE LIST because HOLY CRAP THIS BOOK WAS GOOD. It had all the right elements, was brilliantly paced, had great characterization and a SHOCKING ENDING that makes me want the sequel NOW.

Public Service Announcement: GET YOUR COPY OF THIS BOOK NOW.
The Brightsiders

2. The Brightsiders by Jen Wilde: Let's just call Jen Wilde QUEEN OF BOOKS WITH GIRLS THAT HAVE AMAZING HAIR, because I LOVE THIS COVER. This is all about a rock star drummer, the scandals she can't avoid and her gender-queer love interest. I CANNOT WAIT TO DIVE IN.

Suitors and SabotageMore than the hair, HOW PRETTY IS THAT LIPSTICK. (Oh, Jen also wrote Queens of Geek, which I LOVE)

3. Suitors and Sabotage by Cindey Antsey: I will currently be accepting any and all congratulations' on my evolution towards adult romances from YA ones because I'M GOING TO BE WENTY IN EIGHT MONTHS (freak out) The minute I read the synopsis for Cindy Antsey's Suitors and Sabotage, I KNEW I WANTED TO READ IT. It's about an architect and an aspiring artist in Victorian London and, in all honesty, is probably going to be my next read.

Zenith (The Androma Saga, #1)From Harper Collins India:

1. Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings: If you don't already know it, I AM OBSESSED WITH BOOKS SET IN SPACE. I initially heard reviews RAVING about how good Zenith was and I put it on my TBR and when the lovely folks at Harper India sent it to me, I picked it up as soon as I could. I really liked some parts, but the pacing of the book could DEFINITELY have been better. You can read my review here.

LayoverFrom Penguin Random House International:

1. Layover by Emily Meyer and Amy Andelson: Honestly, I requested this book PURELY BECAUSE THIS COVER IS TOO GORGEOUS FOR WORDS. Also, I've never read a book centered in an airport before (with the exception of those movie endings where someone just happens to be leaving) and I'm quite excited to dive in!

AGAIN, HOW GORGEOUS IS THIS COVER?!
This Tiny Perfect World

From Edelweiss:

1. This Tiny Perfect World by Lauren Gibaldi: AGAIN, HOW ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IS THIS COVER? Why are covers so gorgeous? Scholarships, Theatre, Cute Boys and A BEAUTIFUL EXTERIOR. I am so excited.

I received this book as a part of my tour stop on the FFBC Blog Tour and a huge thank you to the FFBC and Harper Teen for getting me this book

Stacking The Shelves #36 - The One With SO SO MANY BRILLIANT BOOKS

Hi Everyone!

I'm currently in the middle of a long weekend (really, it's three days but SO MUCH MORE than the ONE day we usually get) from college and I am spending all my time Netflixing, Reading and freaking about all the assignments I have due next week, while not actually doing them.

It's fine, though. I have a plan so let's see how it all works out.

BUT, I'm more excited to talk about all the amazing books I received this week that include some of my MOST ANTICIPATED releases of the year as well as a signed and personalized book all the way from America!

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely folks at Tyga's Reviews and is all about all the books (review copies, bought or gifted) you stacked onto your shelves.

Along the IndigoFOR REVIEW:

From Abrams and Chronicle Books

1. Along the Indigo by Elise Chapman: I've been eyeing this book for a WHILE now, ever since I saw the cover reveal on Twitter happen a few months ago, because how GORGEOUS does it look? It sounds gorgeously creepy and mystical and I LOVE BOOKS SET IN SMALL TOWNS and I can't wait to dive into Elise Chapman's latest book.
Along the Indigo releases March 20th 2018
Genuine Fraud

From Bloomsbury India:

1. Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart: It's been a WHILE since I've been so excited for an E. Lockhart novel. I read her JAW DROPPING excuse for a novel, We Were Liars years and years ago and I can't wait to read this Mind Twisting novel of hers. Described as diabolical, smart and twisty, I can't wait to get my Book Dragon Claws TM into this book. It sounds great, the cover is simple and brilliant and a HUGE thank you to Bloomsbury for sending this my way!

Furyborn (The Empirium Trilogy, #1)From NetGalley:

1. Furyborn by Claire Legrand: I AM CURRENTLY FREAKING OUT NOW BECAUSE I  ACTUALLY HAVE THIS BOOK ON MY KINDLE (app) IT IS ONE OF MY MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASES OF THIS YEAR and EVERYBODY is calling it the NEXT BIG YA FANTASY book and I NEED TO DIVE IN NOW.

ALSO, GOOD GOD THAT COVER IS STUNNING AND I AM OBSESSED WITH IT.

Thank you so SO much Soucebooks Fire for giving me approval to read this book!

I Stop Somewhere2. I Stop Somewhere by T.E. Carter: I got this book as a part of the FFBC Blog Tour that I am a part of next month and I am SO INTRIGUED by it. It is about rape, sexual assault, murder and a whole lot of hard hitting stuff that I haven't really read since Louise O' Neill's Asking for It and Only Ever Yours wrecked me, but I am READY to put my heart out there and feel again because: #MeToo.

Thank you to Fiewel and Friends and the FFBC for getting this book to me!

The Queens of Innis Lear3. The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Graton: A DARK FANTASY NOVEL INSPIRED BY GAME OF THRONES AND KING LEAR? With a cover as BEAUTIFUL as that one? I'll take two please.

This novel was SURPRISINGLY on Read Now for all NetGalley reviewers (which meant the ridiculous rules against international reviewers have vanished) and I got the chance to download it. I am SO EXCITED to read it. The Queens of Innis Lear released March 27th 2018 from Tor Books.

GIFTED:
They Both Die at the End
1. They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera: One of my BEST Blogging Friends, the incredibly kind and amazing Nori from Read Write Love 28 got one of my MOST anticipated released, They Both Die At The End signed AND PERSONALIZED from Adam Silvera himself and then got it to me through a mutual friend.

I screamed when I saw the parcel, and even more so when it was signed because AAAH. Thank you SO MUCH, NORI. This is one of the best presents ever.
The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1)
BOUGHT:

1. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black: I didn't know what to think of this book, initially, but then I saw EVERYONE on my Goodreads/ Twitter/ Instagram feeds RAVING about what a brilliant book this is and I simply HAD to get it for myself. I got it at quite a steal deal from Amazon and I can't wait to dive into this Faerie filled world.

Fingers crossed that it's as good as everyone says it is!
