Book Tour Grand Finale for Crossing in Time By D.L. Orton

We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops, go back and
check them out and grab ebook copies of the series on SALE while you can...

Launch - Note from the Author
Love is the most powerful force known to mankind. It wrecks kings, destroys barriers, makes us risk everything for a few stolen moments. . . . And all of this makes for a great story.

Reading for the Stars and Moon - What are your favorite sci-fi books and movies?

I can never seem to remember book titles, and I struggle to recall all the plot twists, but the good characters stick with you. They teach you, change you, become a part of you. I aspire to that with my own writing.

Hearts & Scribbles - Ask the Characters: How Difficult Is It to Be a Character in D.L. Orton’s Book?
Isabel: There were times when I wasn't sure I wanted to trust a writer with my life. Still, Ms. Orton cares about the same things I do, and I’m dying to see how things turn out. In the end, I wasn't keen on some of the scarier scenes (and I'm still sad about all those animals), but the author assures me that everything will work out in the end. Right, Diego?

I Love Books - The Journey Is the Reward
What's the moral of the story? Don't take the ones you love for granted. They could disappear at any moment—and time machines are pretty hard to come by. Put your arms around someone you care about and just enjoy the moment. The journey is the reward.

"This is a steadily progressing story of love gone awry, reconciliation, commitment, sacrifice for love and mankind, and time travel. The novel begins with a “interest-catching Prologue, then quickly begins to formulate the story on a solid foundation, constantly building in momentum until it ends in a solid climax, leaving the reader anxious for the next sequel in the story! It is complete with romance, suspense, adventure and life’s lessons."

Kindle and Me - Review
"If you like other universes with the same people, nuclear bombs, physics, emergency preparedness, giving up your life for someone you love, dogs, cats, jokes, finding that one special person, biodomes, peeing on a handkerchief with smoke everywhere, and maybe a way to save us all from our mistakes then this might be for you!"

Wishful Endings - Crossing In Time (Excerpt #2)
“Still...” The gun trader waits for me to meet his eyes. “I s’pose I could use some fancy flavorings on my venison.”
I regard the only overweight man in a sea of famine, disgusted with the whole human race and embarrassed by my own full stomach.

Celticlady's Reviews - How Does Time Travel Work in the Between Two Evils Multiverse?
Take a shower curtain, some ants, and a bowling ball.
Start with the shower curtain. It’s a two-dimensional object in a 3-dimensional world. Imagine, now, that you are an ant, walking, talking, and shagging other ants on this thin, flexible membrane (or a "brane" in physics-speak). Layered above and below you are a million other shower curtains, all of them with their own allotment of ants (some of which get paid 78 cents on the dollar due to slight differences in their copulatory organs).

"I enjoy a good time travel and that is what this book is. It has a great romance and a second chance at love. I enjoyed the world the author created and thought that the author did a great job traveling in time."

fuonlyknew - Review
"The beginning swiftly pulls you in. The plot deepens and the characters emerge. And as you draw near to the conclusion, you’re gripped in a vise of suspense that brings tears to your eyes, fearing and hoping for what comes last."

Bookworm Lisa - Review
"The book involves time travel, an orb with a message, seashells, love, and secret government projects. It is a fascinating book."

Booklove - Review
"The book, Crossing In Time was a one sit read for me with intriguing and captivating characters, unique, thrilling and original plot and a hooking prose . A perfect read for every Sci-Fi and romance lover."

He wakes up inside a darkened room, crippled and disheartened, and must come to grips with the realization that he is marooned in a bleak alternate future. In this universe, what remains of the human race is trapped inside a handful of aging biodomes. With his mission failed, his world destroyed, and the one woman he loves, dead, he can find no reason to go on living.
But Lani, the emotionally scarred doctor who finds him, refuses to let him die, and as Diego heals, their relationship becomes... complicated. He struggles to let go of the past but is unable to get Isabel out of his head--or his heart. Just when it seems he may be able to find some measure of happiness in a world teetering on the edge of extinction...

Blogaversary Day 22: S.Usher Evans - Release Blitz + Interview + Giveaway

Hi you guys!

For day 22, I have with me the WONDERFUL S, Usher Evans, whose wonderful book, The Island comes out TODAY! It is a brilliant, All the Feels book, and I could NOT recommend it more!

Check out the book and enter both giveaways! YAY!

1. Best part of being an author:

Definitely setting my own schedule, being able to make decisions and not answer to anyone. Also the sheer joy of sharing these characters that, in some cases, have been my best friends for over half my life. In the case of my October release, Spells and Sorcery, Lexie walked into my head when I was thirteen.

2. Two places I’d like to visit:

Hogwarts (post-Voldepants) and Australia

3. Best Fantasy Novel:

Ooh, that’s a tough one. I mean it’s not really (HP), but besides the obvious… I was really blown away by Bell Eleven, by Nina J. Lux. There was so much creativity in the world she’d created. I’m dying for the next book.

4. Greatest thing about being an indie author:

Again, the freedom to do what I want, when I want, how I want. Also, the speed of it. I can write and publish a book in the span of nine months (including time for preorder promo), versus the long slog of trad publishing. There are pros and cons to both, but for me and my impatience, indie publishing is the right call.

5. Why is The Island a must read?

This book is very different from any I’ve written before. First and foremost, the dual-POV was incredibly fun to play with, especially because there’s nothing but an Island. So really, you’ve got two people discussing their perspectives of the world, and realizing how little they knew about the supposed “enemy.” In Book 2, The Chasm, Theo and Galian see their perspectives of their own countries may not be as cut and dry as they thought before.

6. Your opinion on Negative Reviews?

A negative review still meant someone read my book. As an Indie Author, that’s kind of the focus at the moment, because I don’t have a big publisher or agent getting my book out there. After publishing six books in two years, I’ve also come to realize what one person loves, another person hates, so as long as I love my story (and I do), that’s all I can hope for.

View More: http://ashleyvictoriaphotography.pass.us/whitneyevansS. Usher Evans is an author, blogger, and witty banter aficionado. Born in Pensacola, Florida, she left the sleepy town behind for the fast-paced world of Washington, D.C.. There, she somehow landed jobs with BBC, Discovery Channel, and National Geographic Television before finally settling into a “real job” as an IT consultant. After a quarter life crisis at age 27, she decided consulting was for the birds and rekindled a childhood passion for writing novels. She sold everything she owned and moved back to Pensacola, where she currently resides with her two dogs, Zoe and Mr. Biscuit.

Evans is the author of the Razia series, Madion War Trilogy, and Empath, published by Sun’s Golden Ray Publishing.

TheIsland_eBook_600x900Prince Galian is third in line to the throne, but prefers his place as a resident at the Royal Kylaen Hospital. When his father urges him to join the military to help reclaim their colony, Galian is forced to put aside his oath to Do No Harm and fight a war he does not believe in.
Across the great Madion Sea, Captain Theo Kallistrate dreams of a day when she is no longer bound by conscription to fight for her country's independence. But when the Kylaens threaten, honor and duty call her to the front lines to fight off the oppressors.
When an air skirmish goes wrong, both Theo and Galian crash on a remote island hundreds of miles from either nation. Grievously injured, Theo must rely on Galian's medical expertise, and Galian must rely on Theo's survival skills, to live another day in a harsh and unforgiving terrain.
Can they put aside their differences long enough to survive? Or will the war that brought them to the island tear them apart?

For one, the costume Jules has to wear is awful. Then there's the dead body she finds that just kind of...well, disappears. Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Books If You Are In The Mood For Something Fantasy!

I'm going to go with (mostly) standard recommendations, but these are all books that you HAVE HAVE HAVE to read!

1. Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton:
This book is AMAZING! I was SO lucky to receive a review copy, because its not just fantasy, and has a badass heroine but tackles DISCRIMINATION and EMPOWERMENT and AAAH!

2. Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard
I ADORE THIS SERIES! It's the BEST THING EVER. Glass Sword was one of my MOST anticipated reads of 2016 (even though I got it in 2015) and I LOVED every minute of it!

3. Six Of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
To be quite honest, I liked this SO much more than the Grisha Trilogy (mostly because you know that HUGE spoiler in Ruin & Rising? Well, I read it on Goodreads before hands, and it did not surprise me, so.)

4. The Selection Series by Keira Cass:
I had The Selection on my shelves for a really long time, but never got around to reading it until the buzz around The Heir hit the roof, and en route Australia, I bought the e-books of The Elite and The One and read it all in ONE NIGHT!

5. STOLEN SONGBIRD SERIES:
This is one of the MOST underrated fantasies of all time, because it a BRILLIANT/ AMAZING/ MIND BLOWING/ SPELLBINDING series, and not that many people have heard of it! I could NOT recommend it more!

6. Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman:
I don't have anything to say about this book that I haven't already said here

7. Nexis by A.L.Davroe:
This is a Sci-Fi and a fantasy book, but it was SO GOOD! I loved EVERY minute of it, and you will too. Review here

8. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer:
I've only read Cinder and Scarlet so far, but there has been a definite SPIKE in awesomeness from Cinder to Scarlet, and I can't WAIT to read the rest!

9. The Heroes of Olympus Series:
A Sequel to Percy Jackson, I spent ages 12 to 16 reading these books, and while then ending definitely disappointed me (SERIOUSLY? EVERYBODY IS OKAY?) but I would still recommend it!

10. Throne of Glass Series by Sarah Maas:
AAAAAAAAAAH. Enough said. No GO READ IT!

alyxandra-harveyAlyxandra Harvey lives in a stone Victorian house in Ontario, Canada with a few resident ghosts who are allowed to stay as long as they keep company manners. She loves medieval dresses, used to be able to recite all of The Lady of Shalott by Tennyson, and has been accused, more than once, of being born in the wrong century. REVIEW: Nexis (Tricksters, #1) by A.L.Davroe

Title: Nexis (Tricksters, #1)
Author: A.L.Davroe
Publisher: Entangled Publishing: Teen
Publication Date: December 1st 2015
Part of A Series?: Yes
I Got A Copy Through: NetGalley

Blurb Description: In the domed city of Evanescence, appearance is everything. A Natural Born amongst genetically-altered Aristocrats, all Ella ever wanted was to be like everyone else. Augmented, sparkling, and perfect. Then…the crash. Devastated by her father’s death and struggling with her new physical limitations, Ella is terrified to learn she is not just alone, but little more than a prisoner.

Her only escape is to lose herself in Nexis, the hugely popular virtual reality game her father created. In Nexis she meets Guster, a senior player who guides Ella through the strange and compelling new world she now inhabits. He offers Ella guidance, friendship…and something more. Something that allows her to forget about the “real” world, and makes her feel whole again.

But Nexis isn’t quite the game everyone thinks it is.

And it’s been waiting for Ella.

**MY REVIEW**

The world as we know today is gone. Humans with imperfections are a thing of the past. Machines that needed human help to function have been coded out of existence. And the best and brightest of humanity have been chosen to live in Domes - to safeguard their existence, and to protect them from the Disfavoured.

The Aristocrats are the definition of perfection. Hair, eyes, body shape, and even their voices and laughs can be Modified and Altered. Babies can be Customized, making them perfect from the minute they're born, clothes are made of the finest materials, parties are only ever thrown in the grandest manner, and citizens are kept in line through their G-Chips.

The thing with humans, though, is that we are never happy with what we have. And the Aristocrats? Nothing they do is for love, but more for standing in society. And then Warren Drexel creates Nexis. A virtual reality game of the world we lost, designed to give everyone anything they desire.

Nexis is the new IT thing - what all Aristocrats must have; what they must succeed at. Exempt for the creator's daughter, Ellani Drexel, who resents the game because her father loves it more than her.

Until her father dies in a freak accident, and the last thing Natural Ellani told him was that she hated him, and all that's her of the last of her family is a game she thought she would never get into.

In Nexis, Ellani finds herself living a more real life than the one she was living back in the Real World. With Nadine, Morden, Opus and Gus, the Tricksters, Ellani finds herself on a quest to enter the mysterious Anansi Chamber, and falling in love with a boy she can't ever have, all while her state appointed guardian is faking her death, denying her prosthetic legs and keeping her under lock and key - a futuristic Cinderella.

But Ellani is just one piece is a very dangerous game, one that is both real and not...

A little into reading Nexis, I though that this book would be one I hated, or this series would be one that I didn't particularly want to follow through until the end, but Nexis and A.L.Davroe proved me wrong on all counts - Nexis was a BRILLIANT book, be it the writing, execution, storyline, twists, characters and even the love story- it was absolutely mind blowing, and I can't wait to recommend it to everyone I know.

I don't know why I loved it, I just did. And by loved it , I mean I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED it, so much so that I finished it in one sitting in lieu of studying for an exam that was just the next day- and I didn't event feel guilty about it! I can't explain why I loved it, but I did. Even if you think gaming books are not for you, or that the description sounds way too sci-fi for you, or too out there - Nexis isn't actually like that. It's written for all YA readers, and whoever you are, I assure you that you will have the time of your life reading this masterpiece.

I have just one question: WHEN IS BOOK TWO COMING?! And is there a paperback I can get my hands on?
